I ordered this for a wedding, to go under my bridesmaid dress. The boning in the torso part hurt me so bad by the end of the day that I had bruises on my ribs.
It runs small. I ordered a 38 because I wanted it to be a little loose, but it felt more like a small 36C/D.
It did smooth out my silhouette, but it seemed to smush and flatten my chest and rear much more than it made my waist smaller. If you are hour glass shaped in the least, skip this! The bodice is really tight which it needs to be to keep it up. However then it makes a bulge in your stomach below the ending point because it doesn't go all the way to your waist. I expected La Leche League to make a bra that is comfortable and supportive for the nursing mother. This is absolutely the most comfortable undergarment of its kind I have found. I never use the straps--I only ordered it so I can have a decent bra to wear under halter tops and tube tops. It fits sort of tightly, but if you try to make it a little looser, your chest falls out. It's fine underneath empire shirts and dresses, with the seam as an added support, but underneath a tube top or a loose, strapless dress, it doesn't really work. It's better if you're going somewhere that requires a lot of sitting and standing still. I had this formal wedding I had to attend (My cousin was getting married and begged me to attend) but it required me to wear a formal dress. NO WAY. It says right on the tag of the bra "B." B? Yet they say it will work for C+ gals? Liars! It is painfully uncomfortable. There's not even enough shelf for me! The 'shelf' roles up underneath into a painful wad of scratchy lace and pinches and scratches.
The staps were very comfortable though and pretty looking and the underwire is really strong and form fitting to your body - the only things I like about it.

This is nearly identical to the bra they gave me to try on wedding gowns with at the store where I purchased my dress, and about half the price. It fit true to size without pinching, and the back is cut low enough that it doesn't show with my strapless dress. It seems to stay put pretty well and helped hold my heavy dress in place without slippage. The only issue I had is that it does stick out in places when you sit down instead of lying flat against the stomach.
